Nancy Carney
CARNEY, NANCY - The death of Nancy Annie Mary Carney of Newcastle Creek occurred Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 at the Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton. Born at Newcastle Bridge, NB she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Holt) Harding. Nancy was a faithful member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, the Anglican Church Women and the church Choir. An avid bowler and quilter, she was also very active in the community. She was a Retired District Commissioner of the Girl Guides, a former secretary of the Resource Centre, a former board member of the boys and girls club and a member of the Minto Seniors Citizens Club. Nancy is survived by her loving husband Cyril (Cy) Carney; her sons, Rodney (Carla) of St. Andrews, Richard (Megan), Barry (Brenda) and Rusty (Marlene) all of Newcastle Creek; her daughter, Janice Carney of Acton, ON; 12 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Harding of Fredericton; a sister, Patricia Miville of Madoc, ON as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Joshua and by brothers, Garfield and Glyndwr; sisters, Doreen Birkenshaw and Gladys Brogan.
Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto, NB) where the family will receive visitors on Thursday evening from 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, March 8th, 2013 at Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. Interment will take place in the Newcastle Creek Cemetery Extension at a later date.
