LYNCH, MELVIN - The death of Melvin Bernard Lynch of Miramichi, NB, husband of Nelida “Nellie” Marie (Cyr) Lynch occurred at his residence on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Nowlanville, NB, Melvin was the son of the late Bernard Melvin and Catherine (Ahern) Lynch. Melvin was a retired Lumber Grader, attended St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed playing cards, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching baseball. Besides his wife Nellie, Melvin is survived by: eight daughters: Maureen M. Beers of Riverview, NB, Sheila A. Johnson of Ottawa, ON, Kathy (Kathryn) Lynch (Pat LaRocque ) and Teresa Dean (Willis) all of Miramichi, NB, Sharon Lee Bateman (Gary) of Lower Derby, NB, Janice Godin (Hector Jr.) of Edmonton, AB, Jocelyn Vienneau (Paul) of Maple Ridge, BC and Patricia Dominique (Robert) “Rob” of Ottawa, ON; four sons: Carl (Leanne), Ronald (Peggy), Kenneth and Dana all of Miramichi, NB; two sisters: Mary McDonnell of Miramichi, NB and Anita Smith (Albert) “Al” of Saint John, NB; two sister-in-laws: Yvonne Lynch and Edith Lynch; nine grandsons, five granddaughters, five great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Melvin is predeceased by: one daughter: Gwendolyn (Gwennie) 1981; four brothers: Joseph, John, Reginald and Leo and son-in-law: Edward Johnson.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 11 AM with Father Jim McQuade officiating. Burial will take place in the St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring. In Melvin’s memory a donation may be made to the NB Extra Mural Program or Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home.
