Sydney MacLean

MacLEAN, SYDNEY - Sydney MacLean of Plaster Rock passed away at the Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on March 4, 2013. Born in Harvey Station, NB, on June 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Cecil and May (Bell) MacLean. Sydney is survived by his wife of sixty years Ena (Nason) MacLean; his daughters Sharon Pray (Stephen) of New Denmark, Sandra Campbell (Roger) of Sisson Ridge, Nancy Bradley of Fredericton; his son Hollis MacLean (Gail) of Plaster Rock; brothers Orlie MacLean (Eleanor), Milton MacLean (Anne), Wayne MacLean (Beryl), Paul MacLean (Clara) all from Harvey, NB; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Blake and John MacLean. Sydney was a Pharmacist in Plaster Rock for many years. He owned and operated S.W. MacLean Ltd. He was a member of the Cherry Mountain Masonic Lodge #50 in Harvey for over 50 years. He was also a Shriner, a member of the Tobique Lions Club, a member of St. Andrew's United Church, and a Cub Leader.
Resting at St. Andrew's United Church in Plaster Rock with visitation on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2 pm from the church. Rev. Steve Longmoore officiating. Interment will be in Three Brooks Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations to Shriner's Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated by the family. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the church on Wednesday at 7:15 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
