Lily Michael (nee Alick)

Lily Michael (nee Alick), 84, died peacefully at the Prince Edward Home, on Monday, March 4, 2013.
She will be dearly missed by son, Tom; daughter-in-law, Pearl (nee Matheson); and grandson, Thomas; along with many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Lily was predeceased by husband, Eddie; parents, Frank and Regina; and brothers, George and John.
Lily was born on March 11, 1928, in Springhill, Nova Scotia. She attended Mount Allison University and in 1956 she married Eddie Michael and made Charlottetown her home.
Bridge was Lily's passion and over the years she and Eddie made many wonderful friends at the Charlottetown Duplicate Bridge Club, where she continued to play until this past year. Lily was also an avid bowler and belonged to many leagues over a 35-year span. Throughout her life Lily also enjoyed painting, crocheting and knitting until a disabled arm made these activities too difficult.
As a breast cancer survivor, Lily mentored other people who suffered from breast cancer and she was a loyal parishioner of St. Peter's Cathedral.
Special thanks to the entire medical team and volunteers of the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home for the wonderful care Lily received during her time there.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Saturday from St. Peter's Cathedral at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery.
If so desired, memorials to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
