The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, March 4, 2013, of Edward “Garfield” McArthur of Summerside and formerly of Enmore, aged 75 years. Garfield was born on May 7, 1937, in Enmore to his late parents James and Olive McArthur. Beloved husband of Amy (nee Shaw) McArthur and loving father of Olive McNeill of Linkletter, Delton (Tammy) of Summerside and Deletra (John) Curtis of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Lilly (Aubrey) Morrell of Moncton, N.B., and his brother Wilfred (Gloria) of Travellers Rest. Besides his parents, Garfield was predeceased by his son David, his brothers Hughie, Stanley and George and son-in-law Roger McNeill. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Wednesday, March 6, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in the Brooklyn United Pentecostal Cemetery.
