Passed peacefully away on March 4th, in the presence of God and surrounded by his family, Edward (Eddie) Furey. Predeceased by his parents: C. Frank Furey, 1998 and Rita (Morrissey), 2004. Left to celebrate his life are his brothers: Brian (Patricia Tracey), and Michael (Roseanne Ryan). Nephews and nieces: Colum (Jennifer French), Dan, Elizabeth, Aileen and Conor; aunt Carmel Morrissey and uncle John (Jack) Morrissey of Gambo; cousins in Newfoundland and Cambridge, Ontario, as well as caregivers: Margaret and Bill Williams, and the staff of 2 North Hoyles Escasoni Complex. Ed will also be remembered by parishioners of the Basilica Parish for his many years as a collector. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday, March 6th from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, March 7th, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Basilica Green Heat Fund, the Vera Perlin Society, and St. Bonaventure’s College.
