Lieu de naissance : Wedgeport

POTHIER, Leonard Ciril
With his family by his side, Len passed peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington after a brief illness. Cherished husband of Mary for 57 years. Loving father of Lori Heaton, and devoted Grandpa of Michael. Predeceased by his parents and five siblings. Survived by sisters Pauline Shaver of Yarmouth, N.S. and Eilene Carney of L.A. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Wedgeport, N.S. Len joined the RCAF and proudly served his country for 43 years. His career in the military took him and his family to several places where he made many treasured and lifelong friends. Retirement took him and Mary to wintering in Florida for 20 years where they enjoyed an active social life and had the opportunity to pursue their love of travel. A true gentleman, Len will always be remembered in our hearts as generous, kind, and considerate to all. He will truly be missed. Special thanks to Dr. C. vanBaardwijk and the compassionate nursing staff at JBMH and the Carpenter Hospice who provided wonderful care in his final days. Visitation was held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North, Waterdown on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with a reception afterward. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Parkinson Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Carpenter Hospice.
