WALTON, MARIE I. - The death of Marie Isobel Walton of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Vincent Walton, occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Born at Saint John, on May 13, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Guimond) Stanton. Marie graduated from Mount Carmel School of Business in 1958 and went on to work at Poly Cello for a few years before becoming a mother. She then worked at Woolco and later Walmart for over 30 years, retiring in 2006. Marie was an avid reader and also enjoyed knitting, cross stitching and spending time outdoors in her gardens. She enjoyed getting together with friends on a regular basis for lunch or to play cards. Most of all, Marie loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandsons. All four had a special place in her heart. She never forgot to send a card to them for every occasion. Marie was a genuinely kind person who always had a smile for everyone and selflessly put her family before herself, always. Marie is survived by her son, Michael (Tara) of Saint John, daughters; Lorna Drummond (Doug) of Quispamsis, NB and Krista Farris (Darren) of Saint John, brothers; Paul of Saint John and Robert of Fredericton, grandchildren; Ben and Will Drummond, Cole Farris and Levi Walton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Marie was predeceased by her brother, Charles.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634-1965) with visiting on Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 PM. Mass of Christian of Burial will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from Stella Maris Church at 9:00 AM. Interment to take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
