CASTAGNER: Doreen Bonella - The family sadly announce her passing on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at The John Noble Home Long Term Care Facility in Brantford, Ontario in her 97th year. Doreen lived most of her life in Cabri and Swift Current Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilhemina and William Ramsay, her brothers, Arthur and Douglas, and her husband, Sylvester (Sully, 1994). Forever loved by 2 daughters and 2 sons; Jacqueline Dekeyser (Mark) Brantford, Ontario, Margaret Clay (John) Southampton, Ontario, Michael Castagner, and Christopher Castagner, Regina, Sask., grandchildren Nadia Kelton (Michael Closson), Scott Clay, Shannon Clay, and great grandchildren Evan and Nolan Closson. Doreen was an avid lover of dogs, music, poetry and reading. She belonged to the Goldenaires Choir, the Priscilla Club, and she loved a good game of bridge. She also enjoyed crafts and produced many petit point pictures, crocheted and knitted items which she often gave as gifts to people. For a couple of years she owned a ladies dress shop in Swift Current with her sister-in-law, Irene Stein. Following that she worked at Fownes Jewelers until she retired at age 65. In her 86th year she moved to Ontario to be closer to her daughters. Her wishes were for no service. Cremation has taken place. Warren's Funeral Home will arrange. The interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current.
