JAMIESON, DAVID “CHIC” GEORGE - 1928 - 2013 - It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of David George Jamieson, 85, at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, March 20, 3013. Born in Moncton, David was the son of George and Alice (Dodge) Jamieson. Affectionately known as “Chic”, David was a member of the Moncton Volunteer Fire Department and charter member of St. Philip’s Anglican Church. He worked for CN for his entire career. He loved the Washademoak Lake and all that was connected with it; the camp, sailing, fishing, honey making, furniture refinishing, fly tying and card playing. Mostly he loved his family and friends. David will be sadly missed by his wife, Isabel (Black), her children and their families; his loving children, Karen McDonald (Allan), Bruce Jamieson (Lynn), Kathryn Dryer (Wayne) and Heather Munro (Ian); ten grandchildren, Charity, Liza, Sarah, Scott, Teri-Lyn, Bradley, Bruce, Jodi, Gavin and Gareth; eight great-grandchildren, Lydia, Madelynn, Weston, Jack, Benjamin, William, Reese, and Izabel.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by the mother of his four children, Marguerite (Richardson) Jamieson (1995); his brother Jack and sister Ida. The family would like to thank the staff at the Spencer Memorial Home and The Moncton Hospital for the gracious care David received over the past year.
Visitation will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00am, The Rev. Roderick Black officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Shannon Cemetery, Queen’s Co., NB.
