STUART, Stanley Mitchell, 64, West Green Harbour, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Born in East Green Harbour on September 29, 1948 to the late Silas and Alice (Zwicker) Stuart, he was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past two years. Stan was a carpenter in his younger years and in the last 35 years he was a fisherman. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Stan loved to hear a good joke or he would tell you one. For those who knew Stan, he loved to have a drink or two or three. He also loved to watch the races and cheer for #14, Tony Stewart. He was also a coin collector. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Lorna Enslow; son, Dennis (Trin), East Green Harbour; daughter, Tina (Ray), Chipman, Alberta; grand-children, Stacy (Jason); Shanelle, Alex, Tiffany and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Landyn, Liam, and Linkah; He was predeceased by brother, Wallace and sister, Betty. A memorial service will take place at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport, on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Cy Mercereau officiating. Interment at a later date.
