Passed peacefully away on March 29, 2013 at Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Llewellyn Matthews formerly of Brownsdale in his 87th year.
Predeceased by parents, John and Mary Ann; one brother Roland; two sisters, Sadie and Eva; and son-in-law Garfield. Leaving to mourn, his wife Florence of 67 years; three sons, Walt (Effie), New Chelsea; Freeman and Tony both of St. John’s ; three daughters, Daphne, Old Perlican,; Louise (Kenneth) Sibley’s Cove; and Velma (Donnie), Gull Island; one sister Eileen (Tom) Noel, Bridgeport; Thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service was held from the Chapel in Old Perlican on April 1, 2013, with interment in United Church Cemetery, Brownsdale. Donations in Llewellyn’s memory can be made to The Newfoundland Pony Society or a charity of one’s choice.
