DAVISON, Bernita Norma (Ells) - 88, formerly of Hantsport, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Until his passing in 2011, she was the beloved and devoted wife of Donald "Duck" Davison for 64 years. Born in White Rock on November 20, 1924, she was the daughter of late J. Gordon and Ella (Long) Ells. She moved with her family to Hantsport in 1938. She was a member of the Hantsport Baptist Church, Young People's group, C.G.I.T. She was a faithful member of the Kings Daughter's Class of the Baptist Church and a past member of the WMS. She was a Past Noble Grand of Helping Hand Rebekah Lodge, Past President and untiring worker of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion 109, member of the Hantsport Historical Society, Hantsport Elders and Minas Waves, Lockhartville. She could be found visiting the sick and shut-in. Bernita is survived by her twin daughters, Wanda (Binnie) Langley, Kentville and Wenda (Peter) Thompson, Upper LaHave; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne (Matthew) McCalla and Matthew Peter Thompson and great-granddaughter, Vivian McCalla; sister, Erna
(Beverly) Sawler, Coldbrook and brother, Alvin (Betty) Ells, Hantsport; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald P. "Duck" Davison (December 19, 2011); and sisters, Doris Clayton and Helen Davidson. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There was no visitation by family request. A graveside service, open to everyone, was held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Rev. Daniel Jamer officiated. A reception followed in the Hantsport Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Family flowers only.
