With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Sonny Tremblett, on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines on Oct. 6, 1938, Sonny was the son of the late Sidney and Ella Mae (LeBlanc) Tremblett.
Sonny spent his working years in Ontario and New Brunswick, and was more than happy to retire in the home of his heart, Cape Breton. He was a member of the Sydney Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club, and enjoyed his life combing the beaches, watching the fishermen, and chatting with friends at the boat barn and local coffee shop. He was always ready to lend a hand in need, and his fondness for animals kept his pockets full of dog treats.
Sonny is survived by his brothers, Terry (Sandra), Little Pond, Ernie (Frances), North Sydney, Gussy (Linda), Paul (Cathy Ann) and Melvin (Lucy), Sydney Mines, and sisters, Germain (Bert) Gamelin, Ontario, Carol Ann (Al) Johnston, New Brunswick, Silvia (Will) Whitty, North Sydney, Shirley Hawkins, Jane Jackson, Donna (Joe) Dunne, Colleen (Peter) Tremblett, Sydney Mines; sister-in-law, Annie Mae, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Leroy (Darkie); brothers-in-law, John Hawkins and Clarence Marsh; sister-in-law, Olive Tremblett; nephew, Bernie Tremblett; infant sister, Lena and a child at birth.
Sonny spent his last years with his beloved companion, Tessie Clarke, who remained at his side during his passing.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main Street, Sydney Mines. A celebration of Sonny’s life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Main Street, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating.

“Sail high on you boat in the sky, Sonny.
You will be missed”.
