Margaret Ann Lynk - 86, of Woodville, Kings County. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and best friend, Margaret Ann Lynk on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the QEII Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Bishops Itchington, Warwickshire, England, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Charlotte (Wincott) Coles. Margaret met her husband in England during the Second World War and arrived in Canada as a war bride in August, 1946 on the Queen Mary. In England, she had been employed in an ammunition factory during the war and also worked in retail on various military bases. She also worked at Belinda’s Ladies Wear in Kentville. Margaret was a longtime active member of Bethany Memorial Baptist Church and considered the congregation as her second family. She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, sang in the choir and was involved in several committees, including music and decorating. She also enjoyed fundraising for various community events. She loved doing crafts and especially enjoyed painting, including oils, freehand and tole. She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Clarke, Coldbrook; Susan (Jerome) Grady, Mineville; Joanne (David) Lyon, Keswick, Ontario; Roberta “Robbie” (John) Illsley, Woodville; a brother, John (Daphine), Bishops Itchington, Warwickshire, England; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; four sisters, Winifred Newell, Gertrude King, Edith Underhill and Ellen Gillam; a son-in-law, John Clarke; a granddaughter, Rhonda Clarke. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 in Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to Bethany Memorial Baptist Church.
