Ewart Phillips
PHILLIPS, EWART - Ewart Alton Phillips of Tracy, NB passed away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on April 6, 2013. Ewart was born in Tracy on January 29, 1931 to the late Stuart and Helene (Nason) Phillips. He was a loving husband to Inez (Webb) for 62 years. Ewart enjoyed his career as a truck driver for over 30 years, working for M.E. Phillips & Son, Ralph’s Transport, Smith’s Transport and Multi-Ventures Ltd.. Tood, as he was known to his family and friends, loved sports and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger years. Ewart’s garden was his pride and joy. Besides his wife Inez, Ewart is also survived by two daughters; Francine (Gary) Mersereau and Rhonda Phillips, both of Fredericton Junction and one son, Sonny (Coleen) Phillips, of New Maryland, one sister Sandra (Reg) LeGassie and one brother Max Phillips. Grampy Tood also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Kristi, Joni (David), Corey (Cynthia), Robby (Heather), Drew (Joni), Tanner, Dax and eight great grandchildren; Lauren, Blake, Hudson, Alex, Sophie, Charlie, Rosemary, and Eliava. Ewart’s family was the love of his life! As well, many nieces, nephews and friends will mourn his passing.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Tracy Baptist Church Family Center to pay respects to family on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be from Tracy Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 3pm with Rev. Jim Harrison officiating. Interment will be in the Tracy Baptist Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, you may express your sympathy by making a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
