It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Anne Reid (Brine) on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan at the age of 58, surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 6, 1954 in Joggins, Donna was a daughter of the late Douglas Joseph and Verlie Eleanor (Berry) Brine.
Donna worked alongside her mom at Northern Telecom for over 20 years. In her spare time Donna enjoyed walking, reading, and spending time at the beach. In her later years, Donna spent her quiet time with Peter, family, and her dogs. Each summer she traveled to Alberta to visit her son and his family as well as her extended family.
Donna will be greatly missed by, Peter; her children, Laurie (Amanda) Reid, Tanya (Mike) Wilson, Jamie (Stephen) Reid, Phemie (Roy) Baumann, Tom Baumann and Charlie Baumann; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Cassidy, Chloe, and Mya; siblings, Dianne (Hollis) Cole, Douglas “Buddy”, Ed (Cathy), Barb (Kevin) Hoeg, Joyce (Jeff) Greer, Lorna Terrio (Dara), Sam Brine (Mike), Anthony (Scott), Kelley (Desi) Hurley, Mike (Janet Hicks ), and Kim (Robert) Stewart; lifelong friend, Bernice; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents, Donna was predeceased by her sister in law, Sam Gilbert.
There will be no visitation by request of the family.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906).
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Joggins with Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donna’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation or charity of your choice.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Doctors, nurses and staff, especially Dr. K. Bienkowski for their loving care and attention.
