Ida Oke

OKE, IDA - Ida Sylvia (Wood) (Clark) Oke, wife of the late Wesley Oke passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her family at her side. Born 1928 in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Faye (Johnson) Wood. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother Ken Wood. Ida lived and worked on a farm in Ontario for 47 years; she taught school in New Brunswick and Ontario and was a member of the United Church in Oshawa, Ontario for many years. She attended the United Pentecostal Church, Mark Drive for the last few years. Ida loved to quilt and spend time with her family. She is survived by her sons Ronald Clark (Helen) of Quispamsis and Roy Clark of Saint John; eight grandchildren: Kim (Brian), Stuart (Lisa), Jay, Gary (Gail), Adam (Grace), Philip, Lisa (Larry) and Tim; 14 great grandchildren; sister Vera Bosnak of Alberta and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in Ebenezer United Church Cemetery, Courtice, Ontario at a later date.
