It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Allen Armstrong on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at home.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Raymond and Joanne (MacDonald) Armstrong.
Allen loved to fish, hunt and spend time at the bungalow. He was jack of all trades and a master of a few. Allen could put his hand to any task and would never complain. He was the youngest taxidermist in the area and very proud of his work, Allen was mentored by Sylvester.
Allen will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his buddies at the “Garage” and his friends at Chant’s Funeral Home.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his boys, Tyler, Cody and Hunter; his siblings, Raylene Armstrong (Kelly Grant), Lisa (Duane) Eddy, Kevin (Tammy) Armstrong, uncle and godfather, Billy Armstrong (Gerald); uncles, Bennett (Ida) MacDonald, Jackie (Irene) Macdonald; aunt, Florence (Sheldon) Chant; nine nieces and nephews; as well as several cousins.
Allen was predeceased by his grandparents, Doug and Mae Armstrong, Duncan and Alice MacDonald, aunts, Jean Clarke, Mary Richardson and Helen Ryan, uncles, Dougie Armstrong and Gordie Armstrong in infancy.
Visitation will take place Thursday April, 11, 2013, at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating, with a reception to follow. Burial to take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Myatt for his care and compassion over the years.
