Ephraim 'Ephie' Tutty

Ephraim 'Ephie' Tutty

Lieu de naissance : Glace Bay

Date de décès : 8 avril 2013

It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our knight in shining armour. Ephie passed away suddenly on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late William and Josephine (McDonald) Tutty.
With incomparable wisdom, Ephie knew what was important to him early in his life; he married the love of his life Corinne and lived in Dominion, where together they would build the life that touched so many lives, as he watched Elwood, Bruce and Lisa grow up. As someone who never stopped giving for those he cared so deeply about. It is impossible to put into words all that he did, all that he was and the lives he touched.
He was a retired coal miner who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very well known throughout the hockey rinks as Popie, as he never missed a game Meranda or Shawn played, he was their biggest fan and loved every second of it.
Ephie had many gifts and Stephanie was one of them, he raised her like his own daughter with love and devotion. Popie enjoyed his drives to Tim Hortons with Stephanie and the twins, watching them grow into little girls. Ephie was proud of all of his grandchildren, Briana, who is teaching in Hong Kong; Holly, Emily, Liam and Shawn, who are all taking college courses; Meranda, who is going into the Mounties; Dakoda, just being home and growing up. A light came back into Ephie’s eyes when Donna Lynn moved back home, for she was his little girl. Popie took great pleasure in spending time with Shawn, whether they were going to Colette’s for breakfast, or just spending time together. Popie loved life and lived it with the true power of kindness.
Ephie will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Corinne (Reid) Tutty; daughters, Lisa (Ian) MacLellan, Halifax, Donna Lynn, Dominion; sons, Bruce (Elise) MacLeod, Ontario, Shawn (Darlene), Dominion; grandchildren, Briana, Holly, Emily, Liam, Daniel, Jennifer, Stephanie, Dakoda, Meranda, Shawn; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Cadence, Kyle; nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, Elwood MacLeod, brother, William and a sister, Lillian Tutty
In honouring Dad's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clayton Austin officiating. A private family committal service will be held at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy for Ephie, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke fund or the Lung Association.
At this time we would like to extend a sincere thank you to the paramedics and nurses who did their utmost in assisting our Popie, who we loved so much, and also a special thanks to Dr. Reggie Sebastian who took great passion in caring for him as well.
Online condolences to the Tutty family can be expressed at www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
