It is with deep sadness and broken hearts our family announces the passing of Florence May Wonnenberg on April 6, 2013 in Kamloops, BC.

Florence was born in Bassano, Alberta and then went to school in Shuller. She married Fred Wonnenberg on October 15, 1944 and they spent 68 years together. In 1946 they moved to Kelowna, B.C. and then Kamloops in 1951.

Mom worked in various jobs from bowling pin setter to fruit packing and finally settling into a long retail career in Kamloops working at Sally Shops, Woodward's and Woodwyn. Mom was a very caring person who was always willing to help others. She spent many happy hours looking after her grandchildren and her sister Lily who came to live with her after being diagnosed with MS. After retiring she continued to work babysitting, delivering newspapers and looking after neighbors pets and plants while they vacationed. Florence loved her garden and spent countless hours planting and tending to her flowers and grape vines. Every year, you could see her many large planters overflowing.

Florence outlived all her siblings, her bothers Harold Lippert and Ray Lippert, her sisters Viola Hunter, Lenora Ackerman and Lily Reynolds. She was also predeceased by her parents Philip and Alberta Lippert.

She leaves behind her children Judy Wonnenberg, Wayne Wonnenberg and Lynda (Paul) Stabler, her grandchildren Kassandra (Jeremy) McMullen and Johnathan Stabler, her sisters-in-law Evelyn (Elington) Bender and Irene Lippert, brother-in-law Clarence Wonnenberg as well as many nieces, nephews and some very special friends.

Florence was a charter member of the Lady's Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Area 3453 Kamloops.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street, following with the interment at Hillside Cemetery.
