It is with great sadness that the family, announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother, nephew and friend, Frank Joseph Fontaine, age 65, former resident of Peppett Street, North Sydney, on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Fort McMurray, Alta.
Born at Sydney, he was the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Standing) Fontaine. Frank was employed with Transport Canada as an Air Traffic Controller for a number of years.
He is survived by his son, Frank (Tiffany) Fontaine; his daughter, April (Genesee) Hansen, both of Fort McMurray; five grandchildren, Jacob, Ella, Heidi, Nicholas and Tanner; two brothers, Paul (Ann) Fontaine, Nfld., Tom (Lise) Fontaine, Ontario; two sisters, Debbie (Ray) Dunphy, Kelowna, B.C., Michelle (Andrew) Soon, St. Albert, Alta.; also aunts, Alice Standing, Alma Harvey.
Frank was predeceased by his wife, Judy (Fox) Fontaine and a daughter, Cheryl Fontaine.
Visitation for Frank will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A service of remembrance will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
