CRAWFORD, Neil H. – 72, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born June 29, 1940, in Elderbank, Halifax County, he was the eldest son of the late Edwin “Diddy” and Ethel (Scott) Crawford. He worked for CN as a diesel mechanic and retired after 28 years of service. Neil is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janet (Wetmore); daughter, Gayle (Stephen) Harper, Germany; sons, Scott Crawford, Truro; Dana (Tanya) Crawford, Amherst; granddaughters, Emma, Chloe, Sara; brother, Blair (Charlotte) Crawford, Hamilton, Ontario; sisters, Alda (Ken) Charlton, British Columbia; Sharon (Graham) Morris, Chezzetcook; Diane (Earl) Isenor, Lantz; Linda (Stephen) Russell, Lake Charlotte; sister-in-law, Lillian Crawford, Norway; godchildren, Mark (Wendy) Jew, Halifax; April (Stewart) Murphy, Newfoundland; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Neil was predeceased by his brothers, Blois, Scott in infancy. Neil’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to family doctor, Dr. Frank Slipp, Sue Gibbons and Dr. Cortney Smith and the entire Palliative Care Team and to family friend, Karen Carroll for your care, love and support as well a special thank you to the staff of the Sobey’s Pharmacy on Prince St , who went above and beyond at all times. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating.
