HOVEY, RAYMOND "GUY" TRAVIS - The passing of Raymond “Guy” Travis Hovey, husband of Linda (Davidson) Hovey of Porter Cove, NB, occurred on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 17, 1943 in Porter Cove, NB, he was a son of the late Raymond and Alberta (MacKay) Hovey. Guy worked as a pressman from the age of sixteen; working in Toronto, Vancouver and New Brunswick. He will always be remembered for his love of life, his love for his family and friends and his positive, never give up attitude. He was affiliated with St. James the Greater Anglican Church. Guy’s passion was horses and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his wife, Guy is survived by his children, Cheri Green (Jeff), Travis (Trina) and Daniel Hovey all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Jordan Hovey, MacKenzie and Tyler Green, Cynthia Pond and Daniel Hovey; chosen children, Cynthia Kramer of Toronto, ON and Jennifer Pond (Bradley) of New Maryland, NB; siblings, Norma Hovey and Madeline McCloskey both of Fredericton, NB and Duane Hovey (Lois) of Porter Cove, NB; numerous nieces and nephews; special cousin and dear friend Anne Jones (Deverne). In addition to his parents, Guy was predeceased by his infant son, Jody Hudson; siblings, Freda Trohimchuck, Ivan, Audrey, Ernest, Hudson and Malcolm Hovey, Sheila McCallum, Yvonne “Bonnie” Bruce and Inez Nagle.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from St. James the Greater Anglican Church, Ludlow, NB on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2 pm with Father Brian Spence officiating. Interment will take place at St. James the Greater Anglican Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit).
