It is with great sadness that we, the family of Earl ‘Crow’ Cathcart, announce his passing on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Port Morien, he was the son of the late Dave and Bessie Cathcart.
He was employed with the International Labourers Union and also Hopkins Fish Plant.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, June (Butts); daughters, Carol (Kenny), Barbara Anne (Darcy); sons, Earl (Linda), Blaine (Lynette), Derrick (Brenda); sisters, Annie (Bink) Butts, Ruth Aker; brother, Douglas (Brenda); grandchildren, Nicole, Danny, Kurt, Blaine, Tyler, Jared, Dana, step-grandchildren, Taylor, Dustin, Brett, Erica, Parker. Also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Earl's favourite pastime over the last number of years was heading down to Pensioners Point overlooking the Morien Bay to have a chat with the boys and watch the activity on the wharf. Lobster season was his most favourite time of the year.
Predeceased by parents, brothers, David, Barney, sisters, Margaret, June, Helen, sister in infancy, Rita.
At Earl’s request, cremation has taken place.
