October 7, 1938 - February 7, 2010. With much sorrow we announce the passing of Charles A. Veitch, aged 71 years, on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit of the L.A. Miller Centre. Predeceased by his parents Gertrude and Philip Veitch, daughter Lisa Marie, Elizabeth (Libby) Anderson and Anita (Kennedy) Belanger. Leaving to mourn and celebrate his life his beloved partner and best friend Victoria (Vicki) Lynch; sons: Philip (Singapore) and Charles Jr. (Toronto); grandsons: Brian and Graham; daughter-in-law Joan Veitch; also left to mourn brother John Veitch (Lori), Corner Brook; nephews: Brent and Craig; sister Mary Lou Simms (Ray), Brandon, Manitoba; nieces: Allison and Leann Simms; a special aunt Sister Celine Veitch; very dear friend Karen Murphy; Vicki’s children: Tara and Mandy Calver; as well as many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive relatives and friends at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, February 12th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, February 13th at St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent. Interment to follow at St. Thomas of Villa Nova R.C. Cemetery, Topsail. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador branch.
