The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 of Ida Burridge (nee Gallant), of North Rustico, age 70.
Ida was the loving mother of Paul (Karin Brose), Melanie Burridge (Dan St. Louis) and Douglas (Tania); grandmother of Joshua, Kelly Anne and Alexander Burridge; Isaac, Megan and Allanah St. Louis; and Mitchell MacLeod (Raeona); and great-grandmother of Emily and Aiden. She is also survived by sisters, Joyce LeClair, Marjorie Doucette, Janet Gallant, Noreen Down and Marina Dempster; brothers, Paul (Judy), Walter (Noreen), Charlie and Merlin (Brenda Jones); sister-in-law, Joan Gallant; brother-in-law, Charlie Burridge (Denise); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ida was predeceased by her parents, Fred C. and Marion (Blacquiere) Gallant; brothers, Charlie and Bert; and sister, Judy.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery.
