It is with heartfelt appreciation that we, the family of Archie and Nora McKinnon express a sincere thank you to family, friends and neighbours, who helped us through a most difficult time. To those who called, visited, sent food, flowers, memorial donations and monetary gifts, sent emails, sympathy and mass cards, thank you. Thank you to Dr. Kirkpatrick, who cared for Mom for many years and for the home visits he made, when she was unable to get out. To Dr. Ghena and Dr. Coish for the many years of care they provided to Dad. Thank you to the Northside General Hospital staff of ER, 2 West and 5 East for caring for dad while he was a patient. A special thank you to the Cape Breton County Home Support Workers, who for the past number of years, provided exemplary care to our parents in their home. Also we want to thank Betty Laffin, who spent many hours caring for Mom and Dad. Thank you to Cathy McMillan and her Palliative Care team, including the VON for the care and support they provided during this time, by visiting them at their home, when Mom and Dad were ill to ensure their comfort. Thank you to Fr. Peter MacLeod for the beautiful service for Mom at St. Anne's , Alder Point and to both Father Peter MacLeod and Father Jake Andrea for Dad's service at St. Joseph, Bras d'Or. Thank you to the altar services, the Eucharistic Ministers, the choir, the readers and the ladies who provided the delicious lunch in the halls following the services. A final thank you to Bobby, Jim and Kate of Francis Funeral Home for their kindness and professionalism. Words alone cannot express how grateful we are for the support we received, those expressions of kindness will never be forgotten.
