Gerald Brooks

BROOKS, GERALD RAYMOND - Gerald Raymond Brooks of Mount Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 18, 2013. Born August 29, 1945, to Clarence and Annie (Waugh) Brooks, Gerald was known for his passion for tractors, and as an avid collector of assorted odds and ends of farming implements. He could carry on extended, often animated, conversations when the subject matter included tractors. Most of his adult life was devoted to working in a variety of capacities on local farms and on his family's land in Mount Pleasant. Gerald was a simple man who enjoyed a simple life and will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Gerald is survived by his sister Edna Hill of Saint John, brother Burley (Audrey) Brooks of Hartland; three nephews - Chris (Cindy) Brooks of Charlottetown, PE, Darrell (Karen) Brooks of Florenceville, NB, and Carl Brooks of Newbridge, NB; niece Sarah Brooks of Bristol, NB; great-niece Jerika Brooks of Kingston, ON. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, brother Hugh Brooks and sister-in-law Sharon (Foster) Brooks.
Visitation will occur Saturday, April 20th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street, Hartland. The funeral service will take place Sunday, April 21st at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Britton's. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Fund or to the donor's choice.
