William Stanley “Willie” Gerrior, age 48 years, of Eighth St., New Glasgow, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 as the result of a swimming accident while vacationing in Cuba.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late James and Margaret (Petipas) Gerrior.
Willie worked for William’s Brothers Ltd, in Barney’s River for the past 23 years. Willie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports, especially hockey which he still continued to play with his friends and was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Willie’s greatest passion was his family who he loved dearly.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Tanya (Rorison); two children, Vicki (David Sutherland), Springville and Justin (Chelsea MacEachern), New Glasgow; three grandchildren, Taylor “Beauty”, Jamie “Princess” and Austin “Little Man”; sisters: Ellen Clancy (Jim), Ottawa; Margaret Ann Robson (John), Thorburn; Barbara Joyce Feltmate, New Glasgow; Marilyn “Honey” Wallace (Jerry LeBlanc), Pictou; Marie “Gabby” George, New Glasgow; Wendy Beniot (Fred), Thorburn; brothers: Doug (Judy), New Glasgow; Leonard (Val), New Glasgow; Darrell “Joe” (Dena), Pictou Landing; mother-in-law Wilda Rorison (Erick Otterson), Salt Springs; sister-in-law Robin Fraser (Rob), Abercrombie; brothers-in-law Todd Rorison (Melanie Cook), Little Harbour, and Jason Rorison (Heather Fougere), New Glasgow; God Parents, Ed and Judy MacLeod; brothers by choice, Glenn, Brian and Gary MacLeod; and special friends Jared Ward, Barb Shaw and Darren King.
He was predeceased by brothers, Donnie, Jimmy, and Peter; and father-in-law Victor Rorison.
His remains are resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Pastor Tim MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow.
