Willard O'Brien
O'BRIEN, WILLARD WELDON - Willard Weldon O'Brien, 52, of Curryville passed away unexpectedly on April 18th, 2013 at home. Willard was born in Riverside-Albert, NB on September 8th, 1960, the son of the late Weldon O'Brien and Bessie (Hawkes) O'Brien of Curryville. Willard had been employed at the Hopewell Cape Rocks for over twenty years. He was a member of the Hillsborough Legion, Branch # 32, where he regularly played darts and participated in many dart tournaments. He lived in Curryville with his mother to whom he was very devoted and opened his home to his large family and friends, everyone was welcome. He loved to hunt and be outdoors and enjoyed chopping his winter wood. Willard was quiet but he would do anything for anyone. He was a special uncle and had a special place in his heart for children, especially his nieces and nephews, they will miss their Uncle Will dearly. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and that little grin he often had when he was up to something. He will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Bessie O'Brien of Curryville; three sisters, Belva Carlin (Earl) of Riverview, Alida Steeves (David) of Albert Mines, Deborah Steeves (Clayton) of Lower Coverdale; three brothers, Bill Whalen (Robin) of Peterborough, ON, Randy Whalen (Craig) of Victoria, BC and Bryon O'Brien (Tammy) of Curryville; aunts, Mable Knowlton, Marion Nelson (Clark), Doris Hawkes, Muriel Hawkes, Irene O'Brien and Robbie O'Brien and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by all his extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Weldon O'Brien.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. The family will be meeting with relatives and friends following the service for further sharing of memories and for refreshments. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape, NB at a later date. Donations to the Mountain View Cemetery or to the charity of the donor's choice in Willard's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
