John Cullen
John Aubrey Cullen, 101, of Providence Street, Shediac, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Sunday, April 14, 2013 following a brief illness.
Born May 17, 1911 at Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late John T. and Laura (Hilgrove) Cullen.
Aubrey was a graduate of Dalhousie University Nova Scotia College of Pharmacy in 1937. He was a certified dispenser at Pugsley’s Pharmacy in Amherst, NS, a career spanning 62 years until his retirement in 1987 where he and his wife lived until moving to Shediac, NB.
He is survived by a nephew, Michael Cullen of Halifax, NS; a niece, Christine Cullen of Bedford, NS; and a sister-in-law, Daphne Cullen of Amherst, NS.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances Geraldine née Sweeney (1999) and a brother, Paul (1994).
At his request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 413 Main Street, Shediac, Saturday April 27, 2013 at 11 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery with his wife.
Donations, in memory of Aubrey, may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), the Canadian Red Cross, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
