BALAZS, Elizabeth (nee Zima) age 98, long time resident of Morse, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19th, 2013, at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility, with her family there. Elizabeth was born on March 9th, 1915, in Hungary. She immigrated to Canada in 1935, where she married her husband Louis in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family lived in Rosetown and then later moved to Morse where she resided for over 70 years. Elizabeth loved the outdoors. She always had a large garden and her greatest enjoyment came from driving tractor and checking on the crops. She enjoyed travelling and visiting with her family throughout Canada and the USA. Her main interest in life was her family. She loved the prairies and Saskatchewan, especially her community in and around Morse. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Louis; and by her daughter, Elizabeth Weinbender. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Kathleen (Michael) McInnaney of Colorado; her grandchildren, Mary (Steve) Coates of Chicago, Beth Weinbender of Saskatoon, Tim (Bonnie) Weinbender and great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Clark and Madison all of Morse. The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Parish, Swift Current, SK, with Fr. Richard Jasiak, MSF officiating. The Interment will take place at the Memory Lane Cemetery, Morse, SK at a later date. For those wishing, donations made to the Memory Lane Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
