It is with broken hearts that we announce that Kenneth L. Companion, of Halfway Point, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, on April 26, 2013, age 71 years, after a brief battle with cancer. Ken is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce; his daughter Lori Anne (Bruce) and his two sons: Kenneth (Lorelei) and Craig (Monika); grandchildren Lynnette, Matthew, Mya and MacKenzie, as well his sisters: Coreen MacInnis (Gerry), Shirley O'Connell (Jerry), Judy Clarke (George) and brothers: Guy Compagnion, Derrick Compagnion, and Kerry Compagnion (Trina) and sisters-in-law: Kathleen Compagnion, Maureen McCarthy (Don), Delores Allen and brother-in law Dan Cammie, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ken is predeceased by his parents: Mary and Ralph; and Sister Elaine. Ken was a loving, kind and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28th at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish on Monday, April 29 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Edmund Camacho officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Ken’s memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
