Marie CROWE

CROWE (Acker), Marie 1930-2013
With deep sorrow, the family of Marie Crowe announces her death, which occurred on April 26th. She was the daughter of the late Ella and Milton Acker of Birchtown, Shelburne County. Left to remember Marie with love are her husband, Evan Crowe of Pictou, and her children, Tom, Vancouver; Susan (Dorianne Rheaume), Halifax; Ellen MacDonald (Laurie), Pictou; son-in-law, Bill Robson, Halifax; grandson, Evan Crowe III and his mother, Sharon Tamaro, Vancouver. Marie was predeceased by daughter, Jane and brother, Leslie. She is also survived by her sister, and brother-in-law, Doreen and Jamie Myers, Cow Bay; and sister-in-law, Gladys Acker, Shelburne. She will be remembered by her beloved nieces and nephews and their children, as well as by dear family friend, Ellen Phillips, Dartmouth. Of the many gifts and lessons she imparted, what stands the tallest is her example of love and generosity. Her family and her treasured friends – many of them lifelong – benefited by her bright light. We all learned these things from her, and will never forget them. Her tireless work for The St. James’ Ladies Group was one of her great joys, and her friendships there were deep and true. The family thanks them for the companionship they gave Mum through the years. We loved her for her wit, her strength, her resilience and her caring love. We will remember her always, and always cherish that memory. Donations in Marie’s name may be offered to the St James’ Anglican Church Building Fund. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in McLaren Funeral Home, 246 Faulkland Street, Pictou. A service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 29th from St. James’ Anglican Church in Pictou, with reception to follow at St James’ Hall. Interment will take place in Birchtown at a later date.
