Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Sunday, April 28, 2013, with her family by her side, of Hazel Mary Hogan-O’Brien, formerly of Tignish, age 105 years. Beloved wife of the late Claude Hogan, who predeceased her in 1964, and the late William O’Brien, who predeceased her in 1990. Born at Tignish on Jan. 22, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (nee Gillis) Harper. Lovingly remembered by her children: Preston (Alice) Hogan of Christophers Cross; Betty Pauquet of Hampton, New Hampshire, U.S.A; Judy Murphy of Hudson, New Hampshire, U.S.A; Donnie (Gheslain) Hogan of Montreal; and Linda Lou (John) Robison of Summerside. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and by her three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Joan (late Billy) Gaudet, her son Paul, (late Claudette), her grandson Samuel and by two sisters and one brother, Annie, Florence and Frederick. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, from where the funeral will be held on Thursday, afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. Brendon Gallant officiating. Interment to take place at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery, Tignish. If so desired, memorials to the Maplewood Manor Equipment Fund would be gratefully appreciated. Visiting hours Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
