BRUN, JOSEPH - Joseph "Joe" Brun, 91, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Sunday morning, April 28, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre surrounded by his family and friends. Born June 13, 1921 at Botsford Portage, NB, he was the son of Thaddée and Alvina (Doiron) Brun. Joe was a past employee with Paturel and in the construction industry. He was also a Veteran of W.W. II having served overseas, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and a 4th degree with the Cap-Pelé Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lucille née Dubé; ten children; Linda (Yvon Bourque) of St-André-LeBlanc, Majella Leger, Alfred (Gisèle), Louise (Dave Surette) all of Shediac, Francine (Paul Blanchard), Ginette LeBlanc (Alfred) and Roland of Cap-Pelé, Roger (Monique) of Montréal, Paul (Annette) of Moncton, and Armand (Monette) of Grand-Barachois; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Géraldine Doiron of Cap-Pelé. He is predeceased by an infant son, Robert; his brothers and sisters: Almira, Yvonne, Léonard, Gérard, Alcide, and Pat. Joe’s family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Villa Providence, Shediac “Promenade de Vie” for the exceptional care and compassion shown to him during his stay with them.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642, Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours Tuesday, April 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday May 1st from 9:30 am until departure to Ste-Thérèse d'Avila R.C. Church, 2648, Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Joe, a contribution to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Centre, Cap-Pelé (577-3297).
