POND, MARGARET LILLIAN - It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret "Lillian" Pond announce her death at the Shannex on April 25, 2013 at the age of 98. Born in Campbellton, NB, on January 23, 1915 she was the wife of the late Theodore "Tom" Pond. Lillian is survived by her son, Theodore; daughters, Sandra and Nancy; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Lois; sister-in-law, Florence; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Tom; daughter, Margot; and parents, John and Alma (Copeland) Robertson. Lillian was a very active person who loved golf, curling, cross country skiing, hunting and fishing, skating and boating down the Restigouche and Miramichi Rivers. She was proud to be able to enjoy these activities well into her eighties.
There will be no visitation at Lillian's request. A graveside service will be held in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Rev. Brad Little and Rev. Scott Kohler officiating. For those who wish, donations in Lillian's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
