
Edmund LeBlanc
The death of Edmund Joseph LeBlanc, 84, of Sackville, occurred peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Edmund was born in Haute Aboujagane, NB, a son of the late Marc and Julienne (Leger) LeBlanc.
Edmund was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church in Sackville.
He had worked for Fawcett Foundry for many years before owning the Sackville Bowling Alley until his retirement after 24 years. He was an avid sports fan; and a great supporter of local sports and in particular, any games that involved his grandchildren.
Edmund will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 63 years, Eliza (nee Richard); one son, Gary (Charlotte), of Sackville; two daughters, Dianne (Bob) Carson, of Sackville, and Denise (Victor Sears) LeBlanc, of St. Paul, N.B.; four grandchildren, Mike (Amie) Carson, Angela (Lee) Ogden, Peter (Erin Short) LeBlanc and Nathan LeBlanc; eight great-grandchildren, Michaela, Davida, Autumn, Kaylee, Amber, Hunter, Gloria and Parker; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Edmund was the last surviving member of his family. Besides his parents and siblings, he was predeceased by one daughter Gloria in 1974.
Care for Edmund's arrangements was entrusted into the guidance of the Jones Family of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Family and friends were invited to gather for a time of visitation on Thursday, April 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service was held at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 11 a.m., Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial to follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Edmund may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation.
