HANSON, Allen Joseph
Dad passed away
Monday, April 29th after having a sudden stroke at home. He went
peacefully and quickly with his family
surrounding him. We
got to say goodbye. He lived his 77 years on his own terms and was
content with his life. He always said, "If I die
tomorrow, I die a happy man." His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the focus of his life after Mom (Carol) and Rose passed away. "Ol' Pappa" was our rock and we could always count on him to help out or babysit. He was very proud of his children, grand children and his 6 great grand children. He bragged this winter that he had finally got his babysitting certificate. Life dealt Dad several blows, losing Conrad at 23 and then Mom and Rose within 9 months of each other, but he
carried on with an inner strength and determination that many envied. He was always 110% no matter when you asked him how he was. Dad was raised at Candle Lake and loved the beauty of nature that surrounded him. He lived simply and fully. He impacted many lives and was a mentor to alot of the Candle Lake kids when they were growing up and we always had a houseful. Dad was a true pioneer of Candle Lake and saw many changes and made many
wonderful life long friends. He will be missed. He is survived by his daughter Mitzi and her husband Terry, son-in-law Donnie, grandchildren Megan, Terron, Marina (Brett) and Matt (Brandy) and great grandchildren Corbin, Karstin, Elly, Lily, Bentley and Matias. Dad, you left us with so many
wonderful warm memories and laughter. Your sense of humor was legendary, and we will miss you terribly. You taught us how to carry on, move forward and look for the good things in life and most importantly keep smiling, no
matter what. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Chapel, 130 - 9 Street East, Prince Albert. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rose Garden Hospice Association.
