Passed peacefully away at The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge, St. John’s, on May 2, 2013, Dorothy Gladys Smith, age 86. Predeceased by her husband Harold (1993), sisters Annie Clarke and Irene Gray, brother Alex Stephenson. Leaving to mourn daughters: Eleanor (Leonard) Thorne, Mt. Pearl, Elizabeth (Clifford) Thorne, Churchill Falls; son David (Paula) Smith, Bonavista; five grandchildren: Karen (Matthew) Woodland, Mark (Janice) Thorne, Emma Thorne, Rebecca Smith, and Andrew Smith; two great-grandchildren: Eric and Lauren Woodland; brothers: Jack Stephenson, BC, William Stephenson, Victoria, NL; sisters: Rosalie (Howard) Noyes, ON, Eva Leslie, New York, Jennie (John) Egbert, Idaho, Mary Dawe, Upper Gullies; brother-in-law: David Clarke, Victoria, NL; sisters-in-law: Myra Fisher, Mt. Pearl and Eileen Smith, St. John’s; also a large circle of other family and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday. Funeral Service to take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 from The Church of the Ascension, Smallwood Drive, Mt. Pearl. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
