GAUVIN, RONALD - Ronald Gauvin, 79, of Moncton passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness. Born January 4, 1934 at Grande-Digue, he was the son of the late Henri and Évéline (Arsenault) Gauvin. Ron formerly owned and operated Gauvin Engine Rebuilders. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and had a passion for hydroplane racing. He is survived by his wife for 57 years, Doris (Richard); two daughters: Annette Gauvin of Calgary, AB, and Elizabeth “Betty” Gallant (Wilfred) of Cocagne; two sons: Michel of Toronto, ON, and Ronald Jr. of Calgary, AB; two sisters: Gabrielle Stutchbury (late Roderick) of British Columbia and Rose-Marie MacLean of Moncton; one brother, Joseph (Simonne) of Shediac; three grandchildren: Jason, Christine and Nathalie; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Maxwell (Jim) and a brother, Henri Jr.
By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Ron, a contribution to the N.B. Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
