STANTON-LEAHEY, PATRICIA ANGELA - February 11th, 1920 - May 3rd, 2013 - It is with great sadness the family of Patricia Stanton Leahey announces her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 3, 2013 after a long and amazing, fulfilling life. She was predeceased by her husband Charles James Leahey in December of 1985. Daughter of William J. Stanton and Margaret (MacHugh) Stanton, Patricia was the sister of Esmond Stanton (Eileen) of Springfield, Virginia; her other brothers who predeceased her- William, John, Don and Norman; her sisters who also have predeceased her Dorothy, Mary, and Margaret. She had a special relationship with her seven children, including Margaret Leahey Bailey, her devoted primary caregiver and her husband Douglas of Rothesay NB; her eldest daughter Martha Miller of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as her five sons Paul (Barb) of Florenceville; Edward (Sandy) of Houston, Texas; William (Jane) of Halifax, N.S.; Brian (Jill) of San Diego; Casey (Sherry) of Edmonton, Alberta. Mrs. Leahey was the grandmother of Christopher (Hitomi), Sean and William Miller, Chris Leahey of Edmonton; Kelly Leahey of Halifax; Edward Jr., Nolan, and Sara Leahey of Houston; Michael, Andrea, Jennifer (Beck) and Jonathan Leahey; Aron and Craig Bailey; Bryce, Breanna and Brennan Leahey of San Diego; Gage and Jax Leahey of Edmonton. Patricia Leahey was also the great-grandmother to Violet, Alice, Sekai, Marina, Alexis, Anne, Sydney and Spencer.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday, May 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help 31 Gondola Point Road in Rothesay on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Saint John.
