
Vaughan Colpitts
COLPITTS, VAUGHN - Vaughn Elton (Bunk) Colpitts, P.Eng., 77, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital with family at his side. Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Alden and Katherine (Mollins) Colpitts. Vaughn graduated from Salisbury Regional High School then UNB with a B.Sc. in civil engineering. He worked for CNR, and retired as Senior Engineer of Bridges and Structures for Eastern Canada. He was passionate about his profession, continued to do consulting for Crandall Engineering and Canac International Inc. and private local projects. He enjoyed Florida winters and Cape Tormentine summers. He also enjoyed and loved all sports, played golf, hockey and badminton in early adulthood. He is survived and missed by his beloved wife of fifty-four years Marie (Mesheau); children Lori (Bob), Rhonda (Kent) and Barry (Marlene); grandchildren Timmy (Sonya), Kirk (Rachel), Sara, Derrick, Michael, Kelli, Tommy and Robbie; great grandchildren Logan, Kenzie and Rowyn; sisters Connie Fawcett (Vernon), Myrna Lewis (Arnold), Marilyn Colpitts (George Lutes), Brenda Lee Colpitts and Ruth Colpitts (Fred Wheaton); sister-in-law Shirley Colpitts and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by daughter Marlene and brother Ronald.
There will be a private family graveside service at Fairhaven Cemetery. Dad will be laid to rest beside his daughter, Mom said it was "ok to go, there is a little girl in heaven waiting for him." Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800). Donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital (NICU) or the IWK would be appreciated by the family.
