BROWNE: Lorraine (1929 – 2013) - It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine announces her passing at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge in Swift Current on May 5th, 2013. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Melodie (Wayne) Salloum and their children Roger (Paula) Salloum, Lisa Salloum, Tyler (Darren Boyko) Salloum and Chelsey (Nigel Maxwell) Salloum; her son Darryl (Kim Sutherland) Browne and his children Callie Paproski-Browne, Jolene Browne (Daryl Warkentin ) and Dustin Browne ( Jen Lavalee); her son Grant Browne, Wanda Browne and their children Dakota and Keegan; her daughter Michelle (Dale) Fredrickson and their children Brielle and Taylor; 7 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews who she cherished so much. She is also survived by her sister Muriel Halldorson, sister Yvonne (Einar) Franson, brother Vern (Evelyn) Josephson and sister Myrna (Helgi) Helgason. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Alastair Browne in 1996 and her mother and father, Barney and Laura Josephson. Mom was born in the district of Wynyard, SK on the farm. She lived in the Wynyard area for most of her school years where she excelled as a student. She met Al in Colonsay, SK where they were married in 1949. Their first home was in Wynyard where Dad taught. They moved to Swift Current in 1957 and raised 4 children. Mom worked for the Pioneer Credit Union as an accountant for many years. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed knitting in her later years, making sweaters, scarves and mitts for everyone in her family. She loved her family and enjoyed visits and spending time at the cottage at Fishing Lake. Her latter years were spent in Saskatoon closer to more family. She recently moved back to Swift Current and was residing at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. T. Gordon and the entire staff of the Lodge for the exceptional care and compassion she received. She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. As per Mom’s request, a family graveside interment will be held.
