DRISDELLE, LEONARD - 1943-2013 - Leonard Drisdelle, 69, of Monarch Hall, Riverview, formerly of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his residence, after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Alban and the late Marie (née: Cormier) Drisdelle. Prior to retirement, Mr. Drisdelle was employed with School District #1. Mr. Drisdelle had a passion for nature and all of God's creatures. He launched the first dinner fundraiser in Moncton for Ducks Unlimited. He was a very gifted artist, in particular his abilities in carving, taxidermy and furniture design. He was a member of Sainte-Thérèse Parish. He is survived by his wife, Irene (née: Jaillet); one daughter, Nadia (Gord) Cooling of Yellowknife, NT; one sister, Claire Drisdelle of Moncton; one brother, Roland (Cheryl) Drisdelle of Pte.-du-Chêne; one sister-in-law, Pauline Drisdelle of Pte.-du-Chêne; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Donald.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment in Sainte-Anne Parish Cemetery, Sainte-Anne, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moncton Lions Sick Children Fund or a memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the doctors and nursing staff as well as all his caregivers at Monarch Hall, for the attention given to his needs. www.chartersville.com
