HARVEY, ESTELLA ELIZABETH - The passing of Estella Elizabeth Harvey of Fredericton occurred at her home on Monday, May 13, 2013. She was 85. Born in Marysville, NB on September 26, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Katherine Verona Ann (Pond) Jarvis. Estella was employed in the X-Ray Department at the V.P.H. and D.E.C.H. prior to her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Tuesday Morning Ladies Group at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Fredericton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and doing crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she loved spending time with them. Estella leaves behind her seven children, Ann Stafford (Terry) of Hillsborough, Carol Arnold of Marysville, Ralph Harvey (Jennie) of Riverview, Gail Drost (Dwane) of Durham Bridge, Blaine Harvey (Kathy) of Marysville, Garth Harvey (Lesley) of Campbell River, BC and Cheryl Daigle (Ron) of Fredericton; 14 grandchildren, terry, Richard, Stacy, Billy, Ed, Derek, Melissa, Amanda, Gregory, Megan, Jonathan, Anthony, Mark and Brittany; 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jeanette Jarvis (Bertrand) of Fredericton, Thelma Murdock of Lower St. Mary’s, Areta Davidson (Carl) of Geary, Lois Wilson (Dara) of River Hebert, NS, Robert Jarvis (Sheila) of Mississauga, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Estella was predeceased by her parents; her husband William John Harvey; a son-in-law Fred Arnold and a brother-in-law Don Murdock.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Wednesday, May 15 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service celebrating the life of Estella Elizabeth Harvey will be held from St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Stanley, NB on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating. Interment to follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be sent to the Parkinson’s Society of NB or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
