Elmer Joseph Opseth
July 11, 1924 – May 11, 2013


Elmer Joseph Opseth late of Birch Hills passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Elmer was born on July 11, 1924 Birch Hills, SK to Trygve and Sophie Opseth. Elmer will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Thelma (nee Braaten) of 60 years, their 4 sons; Barry (Mila), Philip (Elisabeth), Craig (Darcie Dickie) and Curtis (Valerie); his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Elmer is also survived by his sister Sonia (Wes) English, brothers-in-law Lloyd MacEachern and Mervin (Lorna) Braaten, sisters-in-law Lila Opseth, Shirley Skaar, Ruth Braaten, Marjorie Braaten, Jean (Gerry Cutillo) Lockwood and Marlene (Robert) Morris as well as many nieces and nephews. Elmer was predeceased by his parents; Trygve and Sophie Opseth; his brother Sigurd; his sisters Thelma Call and Edna MacEachern; his brothers-in-law; Paul Call, Gordon Lockwood, Ray Braaten, Clifford Skaar, Louis Braaten and Harold Braaten; nephew Gary Braaten. At Elmer's request there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Elmer's musical talent and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
