Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Home in the arms of his family on May 13, 2013, in his 86th year. Joe was a husband, father, grandfather and brother. He worked at the Janeway Children’s Hospital for 25 years as a Chef in the Dietary Department. Predeceased by his wife, Ruby (nee Cull, May 1987), parents Margaret and Thomas Combdon, brothers Cosmo, Raymond, Ralph, Claude, Edward and sister Doris. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted daughters: Claudette (Carl Thomas), Michelle (Larry Warren); and loving sister Maude (Gordon Snelgrove); grandchildren: Kyle, Michael, Kayla and Dad’s special angel, Heather; step-daughters: Lurley (Calvin Wheeler), Marilyn (Andrew Sharpe); step-grandchildren: Denise (Ken), Karen (Roger), Cheryl (Craig) and Clorinda; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 and on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
