The death of Daniel Barry Estabrooks, 62, of Midgic, occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Born in Sackville, Daniel was a son of the late Alder and Clara (Kay) Estabrooks.
He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing and going to the camp. He was looking forward to the next fishing trip. Daniel loved his family and spending time with his four grandchildren.
Daniel will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years, Linda (nee Fillmore) of Midgic; two daughters, Tracey (Maurice) Hicks of Midgic and Melanie (Travis) Lewis of Jolicure; four grandchildren, Titus and Charlie Hicks and Lexi and Abby Lewis; four brothers, Roger (Linda), Peter (Debbie), Tim, and Paul (Charlotte); two sisters, Nancy (Don) Crossman and Veronica (Brian) Dobson; a brother-in-law, Gary Beal; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his sisters, Olga, Josephine, and Bonnie.
Arrangements for Daniel were under the care of the Jones family at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Family and friends were invited to the funeral home for a time of visitation on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Midgic United-Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Midgic Cemetery. Pastor Hal Lowther officiated.
